Robot vacuums and mops are becoming more capable, acing our tests for cleaning and taking on different types of floors. Look for models that allow you to select between several modes, utilize their charging dock to self-empty and clean the stairs.
A lot of the top models are compatible with your smartphone. Check for an app that lets you save maps, schedules and select cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro

When I tried the S1, it was able to locate our downstairs, which has Linoleum flooring in the kitchen/dining room and bathrooms, along with medium-pile carpeting and a large area rug. It easily drove close to walls without hitting them and even managed to traverse thresholds that were raised in the room without issue, though it occasionally was unable to navigate down stairs in a single move. The S1 performed admirably in cleaning hard floors. Its mop drove smoothly on its flat side and swung up when it reached carpets or rugs.
Before each mopping session, the docking station of the S1 automatically emptys its trash bin and fills up its water tank onboard with filtered, clean water ozonated. The dock also includes a cleaning solution in the water for deep cleaning. The S1's water tank can hold enough water for around 12 cleaning sessions before it has to be cleaned, although this can vary based the amount you use the mop.
The S1 requires periodic maintenance, just like all 2-in-1 robots. You'll need to wash out the dirty tank to prevent it from becoming blocked. You'll also need to clean the swivel wheel and sensors regularly to keep them from getting clogged by dirt or dust. However, overall the S1 is simple to maintain, especially compared to other models that require more hands-on maintenance.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
This all-in-1 robot vacuum - Read the Full Report - and mop combo from Ecovacs is a powerful option to meet your cleaning requirements. The Ecovacs robot vacuum comes with 8,700Pa suction power and comes with a number advanced features like voice control and smart path planning that cleans furniture and eliminates obstacles. Its mopping capability is impressive, with rotating mops that actually lift and scrub the floor, as opposed to just moving the pad across it. The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station as required.
This robot combination is simple to set up and use, with a clear interface that guides you through the procedure. It also includes a hand vacuum which can be utilized to clean those difficult to reach areas that the robot is unable to reach. There are two water tanks which are automatically emptied or filled. It has a variety of useful settings that allow you to fine tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete is a great vacuum cleaner. It has a strong suction that can easily remove dirt and other debris that other robots have trouble with. Its navigation capabilities are pretty good, although it can get stuck on small area mats and rugs in my home (which you can mitigate by creating virtual boundaries in the app). Its mopping capabilities are also quite good, with a pair spinning mop heads that are able to lift and scrub floors, rather than just drag the pad across it. The mops are cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station as required. The mops can also be replenished at the top of the station if they are required.

Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was launched earlier this year. But their new flagship model is packed with impressive features. It has fantastic cleaning results and is easy to maintain. This makes it a worthy contender for our top list of robot vacuums and mop. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a longer side brush guarantee a thorough, custom-designed clean.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming, picking up large and small particles from hard floors as well as carpets. It cleaned the dirtiest areas of our tests with ease, avoiding pet hairs and other mess. The sweeping power of the machine is boosted by a sidebrush that automatically extends to get into areas that are difficult to reach and a mop pad that extends across baseboards.
Its navigation system is nimble, navigating narrow spaces and negotiating stairways without stepping back. It can move from one room to the next without having to reverse direction. This is beneficial for homes that have multiple rooms. Its obstacle avoidance is less advanced than the ones of other competitors, and leaves a huge margin around obstacles. This could lead to missing spots.
The app features a simple and intuitive interface that will be easy to use for both new and experienced users. The app lets you plan and manage cleanings, adjust the suction power and mopping settings and view 3D and 2D maps, and much more. It can be operated through the app, Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri, allowing you to keep an eye on its progress from any location. You can even use the X40 Ultra's camera remotely to get real-time video monitoring. You'll need a stable Wi-Fi connection in order to operate it through the app and external controls.
4. Roomba Q5 pro
A robot vacuum does an excellent job of removing debris and dirt however, it's not able to be able to reach every particle of dust. That's why it's important to use your regular vacuum at least once every week, and especially to clean dust from corners, on shelves, and in the corners of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop designed to accomplish exactly that. It's easy to connect it to your WiFI network at home and it works with Alexa or Apple Siri.
The Q5 is a stripped down version of the more expensive models in the S-series from the company, including the flagship Roborock S8 maxV ultra. It is equipped with the same LIDAR mapping sensors, but it's cheaper since it does not have mopping capabilities and has plastic body.
Despite losing the ability to mop floors, the Q5 still has the best mopping and vacuum performance we've seen from a robotic in this price range. It has a strong suction of 5500Pa and an automatic-empty system, so you don't have to empty the bin by hand each time. It also comes with a smart app that lets you set your floor's type and schedule cleanings, and an automatic water tank refill and wash system that allows hands-free operation.
Its mops also impress with its 2700Pa power that can take on pet hair and dirt, on both carpets and hard floors. The Q5 was among the few robots we tested did not show a problem with high-pile area rugs and carpets. However, it was able to not handle kitty litter or cable tangles. This isn't surprising, since it does NOT include AI-powered obstacle-avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is the quietest robovac we have ever tested. It also features an innovative mapping system that allows it to reach tight spaces and corners that other vacuums cannot. It also has the larger bin, meaning that you don't need to empty it as often. Furthermore, it comes with washable filters which further reduces the expenses associated with using the device. The robot can recognize carpets and increase suction if necessary. You can also mark off areas you would like to keep out of the app.
